A word from the author
I started the research for Toronto Fun Places in 1995 with my 2-year-old. The little blond guy who graced the pages of my previous editions is now 14 years old and 5 foot 10, but I can still bribe him into joining a family outing as long as I promise an all-you-can-eat buffet along the road. My youngest, the 10-year-old, will go anywhere as long as she can bring a friend. So, here I am, with a fourth edition.

The previous edition was already 480 pages thick so I had to drop three chapters (Charity, Getaways and The Totally Arbitrary Section) in order to make room for new material. All is not lost. These chapters will eventually find their way on to my website www.torontofunplaces.com, along with top 10 suggestions, photo galleries, book reviews and many additions.

In the fourth edition, I have grouped all the water activities (including the beaches) under a new Water Fun chapter. The Machines and Museums chapters now include sub-categories. All the parades have their own section in the Amusement Corner chapter.

I'm especially proud of the new What's Around The Subway Stations chapter, in which I describe anything interesting (for an adult with kids) within a 10-minute walk of every TTC subway station. That should help you go green or save on the parking fees! I've also created an inspiring Urban Strolls colour section which fully illustrates how vibrant Toronto has become. It is the perfect tool to play a tourist in your own city or to pose as a savvy guide to visitors.

It is always a pleasure to search, find and share the excitement with you.
Sincerely,
